Oyster Tonger, First Light

There is something to be said about starting your day at first light; the color and light that happen in the span of mere seconds. It is perhaps the most challenging transient moment in time to capture as a painter. I’ve always loved the oyster tonger as a subject. There is something timeless and practiced in the trade…and despite the uncertainty of the days harvest, I imagine the rewards of witnessing first light are forever lasting.
