Wingate is in Crapo, Maryland just a few miles outside of Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. Considered by many to be essentially in the middle of nowhere. For this painting it was important that I portray this vast and hardly populated area of rural Maryland. However, upon closer inspection you will see a scene teeming with life and activity.
